Work Permit for the CEO
For a foreign investor, it seems to be reasonable and necessary to appoint an acquaintance to be the CEO of the Taiwanese company to manage his business in Taiwan. Therefore, threshold for the CEO’s work permit is lower than technical workers.
1. Requirements for the employer
There are only restrictions on the size of business. Salary level is not relevant.
Amount of capital or annual turnover
If the company was set up within a year, its amount of capital must exceed TWD 0.5 million. When the company has existed over one year, its annual turnover needs to be more than TWD 3 million.
Monthly salary
Any salary level above the minimum wage is acceptable. From 2021, the minimum wage in Taiwan is TWD 24000 per month.
2. Requirements for the employee
There is no requirement for the CEO’s professionalism. Diploma, work experience, or license is not required.
3. Quota and effective period
The CEO work permit is for only one person in the company. And it is effective for up to three years.
